The first thing to understand about the business of health care is that there are a wide variety of things that can be considered a health care provider. Those professionals who work in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, or physical therapy clinics can be classified as providers. Many other professionals who provide care in the community can also be classified as providers. For example, physical therapists are often expected to work with a patient in an office setting for hours a day, which can potentially be considered the business of health care. Or, you could have someone who works for a medical laboratory who provides services to patients in a laboratory setting, making that person a provider.
Each professional in the field of health care has to perform many tasks in order to make a living. The therapist is not required to diagnose the problem, but must only provide assistance. Once the physical therapist has helped the patient to move past a certain hurdle, then they can be considered a provider.
While the therapist is still considered a provider, a client may want to see a nutritionist, dentist, or fitness trainer for various reasons. In some cases, the therapist is only required to assist the client through an appointment. Another form of a provider that may be considered a business of health care is a physical therapist who works in a hospital or clinic. Their role is similar to that of a therapist: they must help patients with their physical and mental health issues. They are not required to make diagnostic diagnoses or provide treatment on the patient's behalf. However, they are required to offer care on the patient's behalf and help the patient during the appointment.
Lastly, some types of care are offered outside of the medical field. A parent who helps their child with their homework or a friend who bring their pet to the vet is considered a provider of care. These types of care providers are usually in the business of providing care outside of the medical system.

If they find it profitable, they will pass that on to their clients. If they find that they do not earn enough, they may have to decrease their client base.
You should not be confused by the word "provider" in this business. Although they perform a broad range of tasks, they are not required to do them all.
